Megger Instruments

Although Megger is best known for the world famous range of insulation testers, Megger provides a full service solution to meet your electrical test and measurement needs. Megger instruments provide testing solutions in the most critical maintenance areas including cable fault locating, protective relay testing, on-line monitoring of substation apparatus, and power quality testing.

Circuit Breaker Test Equipment: Circuit Breakers are one of the critical "safety-valves" of electrical systems and basic maintenance procedures are essential to maintain maximum reliability.   Megger sets the standards of quality and reliability. New technology is incorporated in the circuit breaker test equipment with the launch the DDA (Digital Data Acquisition) series of circuit breaker test sets. The DDA controller utilizes digital signal processing (DSP) technology along with variable firing angle and pulse duration control to bring improved accuracy and flexibility to the curcuit breaker testing arena. Megger test sets are available for every budget and test application.

Insulation Test Equipment: Megger insulation tester can appear a bewildering task at first. Actually all the process requires is a little organization. All Megger insulation testers perform essentially the same test in fundamentally the same manner — accurately and reliably. Refinements and added features, however, separate one model from another in application and operator appeal.

Cable Fault Locating Equipment: Power cable fault locating and testing takes on a whole new dimension with the modular cable fault locating concept from Megger. We have geared our development to the industry requirements for a more tempered fault locating method and have developed more sophisticated methods that reduce the stress on insulation systems.

Loop Test Equipment: Use these products to determine the prospective earth fault current, which is the maximum current able to flow in a phase-earth fault in an installation, and also to indicate the prospective short circuit current which is the maximum current able to flow in the event of a phase-neutral fault.

Oil Test Equipment: Oil has long been recognized as being an efficient coolant with a high flash point and high electric strength when used as an insulating medium in transformers, switchgear and other electrical apparatus. It is critical, however to maintain the oil properly to avoid weakening of the insulation properties.

The electrical properties of the oil can change with degradation due to oxidation, acids, sludge, gas and water absorption. These changes can be identified through a dielectric strength test. Megger Oil Test Sets are designed specifically to determine the dielectric strength of insulation oils. The range of Megger Oil Test Sets offer solutions for all oil testing applications.
